Dermal fillers and volume-building injections, often known by their commercial names such as Juvederm, Esthelis, Teosyal, Restylane, Radiesse, Redensity and others, are widely used in aesthetic medicine to fill static wrinkles and to compensate for the loss of volume over time. They are composed of hyaluronic acid, a carbohydrate (sugar derivative) occurring naturally throughout the human body. As we age and due to repeated exposure to environmental pollutants and the sun’s UV rays, our skin cells lose their ability to produce hyaluronic acid. As a result, facial features become harsh and sunken. That’s when volume-building injections of synthesized hyaluronic acid come in handy. Injected under the skin, hyaluronic acid binds to water, capable to hold more than a thousand times its weight, which makes it ideal to hydrate the skin and to maintain tissue volume. It is a safe non-surgical treatment, often used in combination with neuromodulators.

Identifying your injection treatment goals and needs is essential. Several aspects are to be considered, including your age, skin quality and condition, genetics, etc., and would affect the amount of product required for optimal and natural results. During the consultation we will discuss your goals and expectations, and present our expertise in order to offer the best advice based on your priorities and budget.
Pictures taken before the procedure help to get a better view and understanding of the areas affected by the loss of volume and can be used when discussing your goals with the physician. When compared to your “After” pictures, they are an effective way to see the results of the treatment and will be used as reference over time.
Applying a lidocaine-based gel to the areas to be treated will numb the skin and make injections more comfortable. While it is not a common practice at other clinics, at My Wellness Studio we never skip this step to make sure your experience is the most enjoyable.
Our philosophy is to bring out the natural beauty by restoring balance to the face. Your injection specialist proceeds with the injections of the best hyaluronic acid product available on the market in accordance with the individual morphology of each patient. The product is injected under the skin with a needle or a small cannula, depending on the chosen technique, with the goal to achieve face symmetry, restore natural contours and compensate for the loss of volume. The number of syringes needed will vary based on the surface and depth of the treated areas. Throughout the session, you may use a mirror to follow the procedure and to participate in certain decisions. A typical injection treatment lasts 30 to 60 minutes.
It is possible to return to your normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Localized redness, swelling and bruising may occur, but will subside quickly. No actual downtime is expected. The effects are immediate, with optimum results achieved in the month following the treatment, and normally last for ten to twelve months.

Follow-up and maintenance
Touch-ups may be required for optimum results. It is recommended to have annual follow-up procedures to maintain the results. With regular procedures, the frequency and the amount of product needed may diminish over time.

Depending on the area(s) being treated, the appointment time may vary from 15 minutes up to 1 hour. A consultation must be planned prior to the first treatment at Wellness Studio.
Dermal fillers are safe if the treatment is performed by one of our experienced medical experts with extensive knowledge of facial anatomy. Results are reversible by injecting an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid.
We take patient comfort seriously at Dermapure. While pain is typically minimal, we recognize everyone has a unique tolerance, especially in sensitive areas. We can numb the area with topical anesthetic and we have a variety of ‘distraction devices’ available to you. You may experience sensitivity, light swelling or small bruises following the treatment.
Results are visible immediately after the treatment, although minor swelling may alter the final result. You can appreciate the full benefits 1 to 2 weeks following treatment.
For most patients, results of hyaluronic injections may last anywhere from 6 to 24 months, depending on the area(s) being treated*. Our experts will advise you of the best time to return for follow up treatments at your appointment.

Most patients return to their regular activities immediately following the hyaluronic acid injections treatment, although it is possible to experience temporary redness, bruising or minor swelling of the treated area in the 24 to 48 hours following the treatment.

Dermal fillers are recommended to rehydrate and balance dermal volume and are ideal to plump lips, fill deep wrinkles or other areas where volume loss is noticed.
Neuromodulators temporarily relax specific muscles by blocking nerve impulses. Dynamic wrinkles and lines that appear as a result of these muscles contracting will gradually fade. Neuromodulators do not restore lost volume or fill deep wrinkles. Therefore, you can combine neuromodulators with dermal fillers to complement your results.
